Philip Powell received his degree in accounting from Baylor University in 1976, with a minor in computer science. He earned his CPA license in 1980.
Philip began his accounting career in Houston working in independent exploration and oil and gas ventures. In the mid 1980’s, he purchased a local tax and accounting practice in Katy, Texas and began his career in public accounting. In 1991, a position as controller of a Waco-based insurance marketing firm brought him back to Waco. He would later join Whitaker, Spinks & Koslovsky in 2012.
His areas of practice have included company formations, personal and business taxation, QuickBooks assistance, Health and Human Services Commission Cost Reports (CBA & PHC), and oil and gas accounting.
